Sizes on offer
There are square presets at 1000, 1600 and 2000 px, a 1:1 shape marked “most marketplaces”, a 4:5 portrait shape, 3:4, and a custom size. The tool is labelled “Marketplace rules change — check your seller centre.” That is worth taking literally. Each marketplace sets its own minimum size, shape and background rules and updates them from time to time, so look up the current guidance in your seller account before preparing a batch.
As a general habit, a larger square gives buyers room to zoom, and sticking to one shape across a store makes listings look tidy side by side.
Fit or Fill
The two modes solve different problems.
A quick test for which to use: look at the edges of your photo. If they hold only empty background, Fill will trim nothing important. If the product reaches close to an edge, use Fit.
- Fit keeps the whole product and pads the remaining space. Choose white or another color, and set the padding as a percentage so the product does not touch the edges. Use it when cutting anything off would be a problem, such as a tall bottle in a square frame.
- Fill crops the photo to cover the whole frame with no padding. Use it when the photo has spare background around the product and a tighter view looks better.
Consistent listings
Buyers compare thumbnails in a grid, and products that sit at the same size with the same margin look more professional. Pick one padding percentage and use it for every photo in a range. Around 5 to 10 percent usually leaves a clean border without making the product look small.
Photos that already have a white border, perhaps from a supplier, can end up with an uneven margin once padded. Turn on “Trim existing white border first” and the old border is removed before the new padding is added, so every product sits the same way.
Preparing the photo first
This is a resizing and framing tool. It does not change the background behind the product. If you need the product on plain white first, run Background colour with the Any subject option, then come back here; the edited photo carries over. Brighten dull shots with Photo enhancer before resizing.
Photos taken in a light box or against a white sweep usually need only resizing. Photos on a table or a floor benefit from a cutout first, so the padding color matches what is behind the product.
What it will not do
- Marketplace rules change. It cannot confirm a photo meets any marketplace's current requirements; check your seller centre.
- It does not remove or replace the background; padding only fills new space around the photo.
- Fill crops the edges, which can cut off part of a product with an unusual shape.
- Enlarging a small photo to a big preset makes it bigger, not sharper.
Devices and downloads
No download — ordinary image arithmetic. Resizing, padding and trimming are conventional edits with no model, so WebGPU and WebAssembly are not involved. The full-resolution photo is processed in this tab.

Step by step
- Open a product photo. Drop, paste or choose the image.
- Pick a size. Choose a square, 1:1, 4:5, 3:4 or custom preset.
- Choose Fit or Fill. Fit pads with a color and a padding percentage; Fill crops to cover.
- Trim and export. Trim an existing white border if needed, check your seller centre's rules, then save.
Questions about marketplace resizer
What image size does my marketplace require?
Rules differ between marketplaces and change over time, so check your seller centre for the current figures. Then pick the matching preset or enter a custom size.
Should I use Fit or Fill for product listing photos?
Fit keeps the whole product and adds padding. Fill crops to cover the frame. Use Fit whenever cropping could cut off part of the product.
How much padding looks right around a product?
Around 5 to 10 percent usually gives a clean margin. Use the same value across a range so listings line up.
What does the trim white border option do?
It removes an existing white edge from the photo before new padding is added, so the product sits evenly in the frame.
